School Dances

Turn it Up Deejays has a special approach when it comes to DJing kids parties and school events, something other DJ’s seem to miss the mark on. Whenever I speak with someone from a school, their main concern is always making sure the DJ will play clean music, and that the kids know the songs that will be played. While we definitely agree with these things, we think this should go without saying. At Turn it Up Deejays, we focus less on just playing good music, and more on creating a performance that the kids can be apart of.

Now, this isn’t usually our approach with other events (like weddings or birthday parties), because with those the focus shouldn’t be on us, it should be on the person hosting the event. However, the point of a school dance is for the kids to have fun, so like I mentioned above we create a “performance” for the kids. We do this by combining interactive microphone work, and the hottest songs out right now. We also know all of the new “dances” that the kids are doing these days, and work these in periodically. And don’t worry, these performances aren’t boring to the kids, we keep them engaged by using line dances, pop songs, dance battles, limbo, conga lines, and sing alongs to songs they know. In fact we have so much success with these types of parties, that some schools that we work with add extra events to their calendar just so the kids can party with us. Another reason that we are so successful school events is because all of our DJ’s are in their 20’s, meaning we know exactly what music is hot and relevant. In fact, some of our DJ’s also play in local clubs literally mixing today’s hits. Older DJ’s tend to not be able to grasp the concept of the music that they’re playing, so there’s not usually a good momentum in their sets, or connection with the crowd. But don’t worry, we spend a lot of time also training our team in other aspects like professionalism, and event coordinating. So not only will our DJ kill the dance floor, but they can also help you keep your event on track.
